YEREVAN. – The First Republic returned Armenians their pride, Education Minister said in Sardarapat.

Armen Ashotyan and other officials visited memorial complex on May 28 when Armenia marks First Republic Day.

“The First Republic saved Armenians from physical extermination in this part of the historic land,” he said, noting that the most important thing is the unity of the nation.

He stressed that the countries where political elite is unable to find agenda uniting the people are doomed to failure.

“I hope the Third Republic will prove that political elite is capable of uniting around important goals despite political differences,” he added.
