YEREVAN. – The participants in the sit-in at Baghramian Avenue in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia,—and against the recent decision to raise the price of electricity in the country—on Friday collected and took out the trash on their own (PHOTOS).

One of the activists, Grigor Ghahramanyan, told Armenian News-NEWS.am that a garbage truck was not provided for them on this day.

“Yesterday, a journalist had climbed on the garbage truck, whereupon children likewise had climbed on the garbage truck, whereupon we were told that no vehicle will come any longer to take out the thrash,” said Ghahramanyan. “The [Yerevan] Municipality said that they are not providing the vehicle due to security.”

Once the demonstrators brought the garbage down the avenue, however, a garbage truck arrived.

Ultimately, an agreement has been reached that, starting from Saturday, a garbage truck will punctually arrive in the sit-in location.
