Azerbaijan has launched offensive operations along the Line of Contact between the Karabakh-Azerbaijani opposing forces, using a variety of weaponry, as well as artillery, armored vehicles, and air force.

Aside from the ongoing battles at the frontline, on late Friday night and early Saturday morning, Azerbaijan launched artillery strikes at peaceful settlements and the permanent bases of several military units of the Karabakh Defense Army, attempted to occupy tactical positions Karabakh Defense Army.

A 12-year-old Armenian boy was killed and two other children were wounded in the Azerbaijani missile and shelling attack toward peaceful Karabakh settlements.

As a result of active operations by the Karabakh Defense Army divisions, the adversary has been pushed back having suffered numerous casualties.

Besides, The Defense Army antiaircraft units have downed, at the contact zone of the opposing forces, an Azerbaijani hostile helicopter that was attacking toward the Armenian positions.

At present, there are intense clashes all along the Line of Contact.

The Armenian MOD has called this an unprecedentedly aggressive and irresponsible decision of Azerbaijani authorities, which can lead to unpredictable consequences for the Azerbaijani side, for  which Baku bears the entire accountability.

The MOD of Armenia invites the international community’s—especially the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs’—attention to the current situation, and expects an immediate targeted intervention to keep the situation under control and avoid large-scale military actions.
