A touching video, where a brave little hippopotamus tries to save its mother from a hungry lion, has gone viral on the Internet.

The little hippo did not allow the predator to come near its wounded mother.

Ultimately, the lion retreated.

At the end of the video, however, it reads: “Both hippos survived the lion attack. But drought and starvation caused them to die 2 days later.”
