The expansion of Armenia’s cooperation with NATO can strengthen the defense and security of the country.
Former US diplomat, Ambassador (ret.) Kenneth Yalowitz, told the aforesaid to the Voice of America Armenian service, commenting on the NATO summit that will kick off Friday in Warsaw, the capital city of Poland.
Yalowitz said it would be a welcome if Armenia likewise takes steps in this direction, since the strengthening of cooperation with NATO would contribute to the freedom of maneuver in foreign policy.
In his words, the West realizes that Yerevan has established closer ties with Russia. As per Kenneth Yalowitz, even though it is absolutely clear that Armenia is facing a difficult dilemma, these steps would further increase the degree of the country’s independence, and this is exactly what the US would like to see.
