YEREVAN. – Exhibition of the works by painter Ashot Petrosyan—a member of the Sasna Tsrer armed group which took over a police patrol regiment building, but later surrendered in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan in July—opened in Yerevan on Saturday.
Thirty works by Petrosyan are displayed at the event.
Opposition Heritage Party Chairman, former FM Raffi Hovannisian, told Armenian News-NEWS.am that he got familiarized with the painter’s works for the first time, and he is very impressed.
“He is a man whose decency, [and] national gene are above everything,” said Hovannisian. “He is a true artist.”
And opposition Founding Parliament initiative member Alec Yenikomshian noted that Ashot Petrosyan and the other members of Sasna Tsrer are fighting to build a cultural Armenia, and that they will build it.
The exhibition of Petrosyan’s paintings will be open until September 10.
