The memorial service of Academician Sergey Hambardzumyan got underway Tuesday at the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, academics, public and political figures, as well as ordinary people were on hand at the event.
Hambardzumyan had passed away on August 4, at the age of 97.
