Police detained several people during the Saturday Mothers’ sit-in in Istanbul.

An Armenian MP of Turkish parliament Garo Paylan and other opposition MPs joined the protesters. Paylan called on police to reject violence, but police officers pushed the deputies. They also tried to detain Garo Paylan, but the latter said he is a member of the parliament and police officers let him go, Cumhuriyet reported.

Chief of police told Paylan that his police officers “will do whatever they want”.
