YEREVAN. – Even though the already dissolved National Assembly (NA) of Armenia shall convene Tuesday for the last time for its regular session, there is no respective quorum yet.

Solely 12 MPs were registered at the start of the sitting, whereas 53 deputies need to be in attendance in order to kick off the session.

There are five matters on the session’s agenda. But the most noteworthy matter is with respect to whether the legislature will give its consent for launching criminal proceedings against former ruling Republican Party of Armenia’s NA Faction member Aram Harutyunyan, and for detaining him.

As reported earlier, Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan on Monday petitioned to the NA, and with a request to give its consent for launching criminal proceedings against Harutyunyan, and for remanding him in custody.

Aram Harutyunyan is accused of taking a $14mn bribe.
