The Division for Counteracting Corruption and Crimes against Economic Activity of the General Department for Fight against Organized Crime of the Police has received information from the National Security Service stating that there have been misappropriations at the municipality of Odzun.
As a result of the joint efforts of the Lori regional department and Tumanyan Division of the Police, it became clear that in 2017-18, the director of the “Communal Service and Improvement of Odzun” Community Non-Commercial Organization (CNCO) had formally hired his son and seven other residents of Odzun who had not shown up to work and that their salaries written off under their names (AMD 3,600,000 in total) had been appropriated.
A criminal case has been instituted in relation to cases of appropriating or squandering particularly large amounts of money and committing official fraud. Preliminary investigation is underway.
