The visit of the Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's wife Anna Hakobyan to the US has kicked off.
Anna Hakobyan made a speech during the special event in the US Congress, Voice of America reported.
During her speech, Anna Hakobyan sayd that Armenia's achievements are on the path of full democracy and real economic growth.
Congressman Jackie Speier of Armenian origin noted that the Congress would do its best for the US to provide worthy support to Armenia both economically and politically.
The Armenian velvet revolution also impressed one of the most influential US congressmen, Adam Schiff, who had come to the event to get acquainted with Anna Hakobyan personally.
According to him, they need to raise US-Armenia partnership to a new level in order to help our wonderful government succeed.
Anna Hakobyan’s trip kicked off on Tuesday with her visit to the Congress and Library of Congress, where Armenian samples of Armenian literature were presented.
During her speech, Anna Hakobyan noted that after the velvet revolution, everything is even better than expected in Armenia.
Anna Hakobyan will also have a meeting at the Carnegie Foundation on the sidelines of the Women for Peace campaign and will participate in the event dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Consulate General of Armenia in Los Angeles.
During the visit, Anna Hakobyan will also take part in several charity dinners and have bilateral meetings during which she will present the programs and activities of the two charitable foundations. Anna Hakobyan will also visit the St. Jude Hospital in Memphis where a memorandum will be signed between the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Armenia and the City of Smile Charitable Foundation.
