Currently, about 71 people released by amnesty have committed 131 crimes. This is what Chief of Police of the Republic of Armenia Valeriy Osipyan declared during a briefing with journalists on 4 April.

According to the police chief, citizens of the Republic of Armenia have become more sensitive.

“In the past, citizens wouldn’t pay attention to a particular act because they thought there would be no appropriate legal action, but today, citizens always address the police,” he said.

According to him, the police record every report and statement.

Osipyan also stated that, based on the data provided this past quarter, the number of crimes has decreased and the revelation indicator has increased.

Touching upon the overload of road traffic in Armenia, Osipyan recalled once again that Armenia is importing more and more cars. According to him, Armenia imported 9,000 more cars in the first quarter of 2019 compared to the year 2018.
