YEREVAN. – At Thursday’s Cabinet meeting, the government of Armenia decided to allocate money to capital city Yerevan community.
Accordingly, 3,281,000 drams will be allocated from the government reserve fund to the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure for nine months of 2019 to subsidize Yerevan for the designing of late great Armenian statesman Karen Demirchyan’s statue in the area of the sports and concert complex that is named after him.
Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Minister Suren Papikyan noted that the matter was discussed with Demirchyan’s family members, who have expressed desire and agreed to have this statue installed on the site of the aforesaid sports and concert complex.
According to estimates, a total of 54,237,500 drams will be needed for the making of Karen Demirchyan’s bronze statue and its pedestal in one year.
