make preferableYEREVAN. - Samvel Stepanyan, who was detained after arguing with protesters outside Yerevan Municipality, has been released.
Stepanyan told reporters that he had come to the city hall for a petition, but had seen the garbage that was dumped near the municipality and started to argue with the demonstrators.
He added that someone had hit him outside the city hall, and therefore he had gotten angry.
Sona Aghekyan, a former member of the Yerevan Council of Elders, was also released. She told reporters that they had achieved another victory.
“But before the next [protest] action, we will take diapers so that they [the Yerevan municipality officials] wear at least two [of them], each, before they get under the desk, and not tremble behind police detachments, but have the courage, come down, and answer the citizens,” Aghekyan added, in particular.
As reported earlier, Sona Aghekyan on Thursday was staging a protest with her supporters outside Yerevan Municipality. They demand to resolve the problem of garbage disposal in the capital city of Armenia.
And police had detained three people following an argument between an individual and the demonstrators.
