Armenia’s Police continue to take actions to provide necessary assistance to families and return minors to their families within the limits of their competence. A few days ago, the General Department of Criminal Intelligence of the Police received information that a minor citizen of Armenia deprived of parental care had taken shelter in one of the social-rehabilitative centers in the Smolensk Oblast of the Russian Federation.
The Police immediately responded, took actions and found the minor’s mother, who didn’t have the opportunity to return her daughter to Armenia and was asking the relevant authorities to help organize her daughter’s return.
Taking as a basis the requirements of the Agreement on Return of Minors of CIS countries to their Countries of Permanent Residence signed in 2002, on August 30, the minor was returned to Armenia and took shelter at the Armenian Relief Fund’s center for child support thanks to the Department for Minors and Prevention of Domestic Violence of the General Department of Criminal Intelligence.
