Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and his daughters attended the concert devoted to the music that composer, People’s Artist of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Mansurian has composed for film soundtracks. The concert was held at the National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet named after Alexander Spendiaryan.

Pashinyan also delivered his congratulatory remarks in which he stated that the image of Mansurian needs to be perceived anew to a certain extent since his achievements are victory over destiny. “Mansurian was born in Lebanon, came to Soviet Armenia and found himself in a dire social condition, and in spite of this, he managed to achieve fame and glory,” he said and considered this an important story and an example for people.

Pashinyan also mentioned that Mansurian’s music gives people strength and makes them optimistic and have a sense of unity. “Maestro, I would like to thank you for the sense of unity that you have conveyed to us and the generations, and I express my respect to you,” he said.

The concert was held as part of the “Maestro Mansurian-80” concert series dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Tigran Mansurian. The symphony orchestra performed the music that the master of Armenian classical music has composed for film soundtracks.
