The opening of the Amulsar mine is impossible. This is what member of the Sasna Tsrer Pan-Armenian Party Varuzhan Avetisyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am today.

“We are certain that it can’t happen, but if it does happen, it will intoxicate the entire water system in Armenia. We can’t say when, but the waters of Armenia will be eternally intoxicated. The exploitation of that mine can’t be permitted in any way. This is the interest of the homeland, the nation and the future, and no economic interest can be compared with that,” he said.

Avetisyan mentioned that even if a decision is taken to exploit the mine, it won’t be implemented.

“I believe the incumbent authorities need to understand this. We have always urged and continue to urge them to understand the importance and dimension of the issue and not experiment,” he concluded.
