YEREVAN. – Since this is a very “party” event, and in fact, we invited party members, adherents, contributors, supporters to this event, so there was no logic in inviting [other] parties, politicians, or the authorities. Edmon Marukyan, chairman of the opposition Bright Armenia party, said this in a conversation with journalists today during an event dedicated to the 4th anniversary of this political force.

He noted that lately, no other political force has been involved in party congresses. "This is a birthday, a celebration for the party members," Marukyan said. “If, for example, any party leader comes to celebrate this celebration with us, it may give the impression that he wants this party to get their votes, too. Therefore, to avoid creating unnecessary political things, I think it was not right to send invitations to the [other] political forces in Armenia."
