The Constitutional Court (CC) of Armenia has worked as normal to this day. CC judge Arevik Petrosyan said this in a conversation with journalists today.

Petrosyan expressed a conviction that there is no crisis in the CC. "We have made our decisions with a sense of high statehood, we have carried out our constitutional mission in an atmosphere of mutual respect for state institutions," she added, in particular.

Asked whether she saw CC judge Vahe Grigoryan in the CC building, Petrosyan answered: “I only see Mr. Grigoryan in the corridor of the CC when going into this or that room. He does not participate in the working sessions; he does not participate in the procedure sessions. I'm not sure whether he is in the CC building or not right now. We were willing to listen to him, his observations. From the tribune of the National Assembly he announced that he was going to share his remarks and observations with the judges of the CC, but he had no initiative to meet, he did not share, for example, with me.”

Arevik Petrosyan emphasized that Vahe Grigoryan had sworn that he shall perform his duties as a CC judge. "He has given a CC judge’s oath to be impartial and to fulfill her mission of supremacy of the Constitution," she said. “He should have exercised his powers within the framework of his oath and the position he has taken under the Constitution and the Law on the Constitutional Court. If he thought that the CC was in such a critical situation that it was insurmountable, it should have been good enough to fight against it, if he could overcome it, have the legal climate he had imagined, and then try to get elected as a CC judge.”
