YEREVAN. – The blockade of the National Assembly building was another phase of the revolution. Armenia’s Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan said this at a press conference today.

"The blockade of the National Assembly building was another phase of the revolution, which was carried out in compliance with all the requirements and conditions of the law," he noted. "The will of the Armenian people is once again expressed in terms of initiating reforms and forming a new-quality political power in Armenia, which was followed by elections which for the first time in the history of the Republic of Armenia were qualified as free and fair elections, in accordance with all international standards, for the first time the will of the people has been expressed in absolute fashion, without any deviation, and we have a legitimate National Assembly."

Badasyan also referred to the blockade of the courts. "The blockade of the courts was to draw public attention that radical reforms are needed in this system so that the public's confidence in that system will grow, and we expect high-quality justice," he said. "If the new government had aimed to have a judicial system dependents on it, its method would not be a public appeal."
