When you determinedly, do something with enthusiasm and it seems to you that your resources are not enough, but resources are gathered on you doing that. When we were dealing with the [1988 earthquake] disaster zone, I got a call from Huntsman that, "I want to do a project [in Armenia]." I said, "Please. And I am waiting for people like you." Second President Robert Kocharyan, the leader of the "Armenia" bloc that will run in the snap parliamentary elections on June 20, stated this at a meeting with the residents of Shirak Province and the active members of this bloc—in Gyumri.

"We immediately ‘flew’ [there], he [Huntsman] built a district, a school, and so on [there]. There are many such examples. Gyumri became so dear. When I came to Gyumri when I was still the Prime Minister, it was very problematic; there was no center, there were shacks [there]. I said, 'If nothing has changed the second time I come, they will beat me here' because I know that the previous authorities were coming with quite a fear.

A goal was set that something should change, something should be added in Gyumri from visit to visit. After that, Gyumri has become the city where visiting was the most pleasant. During those years, about 20,000 families in Gyumri received new apartments," Kocharyan added.
