The footage of the collision involving one of the cars of the motorcade of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who was returning from work to the government summer house, has been posted on the Internet.

As can be seen in the video, the pregnant woman, Sona Mnatsakanyan, who died as a result of this collision, was crossing a pedestrian crossing at the time of the incident.

The collision took place Tuesday at a downtown Yerevan intersection. Mnatsakanyan,  29, a resident of Ararat Province, died as a result. She was expecting a baby. The life of the fetus could not be saved either.

According to the Investigative Committee of Armenia, at around 6:05pm on Tuesday, the commander of the accompanying officer platoon of Road Police ran over—with the service vehicle he was driving—an Ararat Province resident at a downtown Yerevan intersection. The woman was taken to hospital, but she died without regaining consciousness

The driver of this car left the scene immediately after the accident, but returned to the scene at 8:05pm and took part in the investigation. He has been detained.

People have been placing candles and toys at the scene since yesterday.
