The murder of an Indian citizen in Yerevan has been solved, the Investigative Committee of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
At 9:40am on Sunday, a report was received about a man's dead body in a stone workshop in the Armenian capital.
The investigative-operational team that was dispatched to the scene found the dead body of a 27-year-old Indian national on a sofa, in a bloody state, with injuries on the head and face, as well as an iron rod with traces of blood.
Criminal proceedings have been launched into the incident.
As a result, a number of circumstances of the incident—including the motive, as well as the identity of murder suspect who is a 45-year-old Indian national—were ascertained.
The investigation found out that at around 2am on Sunday, an argument took place between the murder victim and his 45-year-old acquaintance over personal issues, during which the acquaintance hit the 27-year-old man on the face several times with a metal rod, as a result of which the young man died.
The 45-year-old Indian citizen was detained, and he confessed to committing this crime.
Several forensic examinations have been ordered.
The criminal investigation continues.
