The NSS of Armenia uncovered a channel for illegal migration and suppressed the activities of a criminal group, the press service of the NSS reports.

As a result of large-scale investigative activities carried out by the investigative departments of the National Security Service of Armenia on combating economic security and corruption, it was found that a group of people, in order to organize the illegal migration of two or more persons, reaching prior agreement with the management of various travel agencies operating in Yerevan, and others, distributing roles, for the amount of up to $ 25 thousand for each illegal migrant, organized the illegal departure of Armenian citizens through transit countries to the United States of America, preparing for this purpose false documents in the name of the departing persons about the availability of work, salary, other income, or the death of close relatives of persons leaving the country, who were presented to the competent authorities of the Republic of Armenia and abroad.

During the preliminary investigation in the apartments and cars of the members of the criminal group, who organized illegal migration, as well as in the offices of the travel agencies numerous forged documents, blank document templates, notebooks with the records of the sums paid by several dozen citizens who had received permission for illegal exit to foreign states, copies of passports of the citizens who illegally left Armenia, visas and voice messages were found and confiscated.

In the course of preliminary investigation four persons of the criminal group were detained, the prosecutor decided to launch criminal prosecution on relevant articles of the Criminal Code for organization and facilitation of illegal migration, production and use of fake documents.
