YEREVAN. – The young man who attempted to commit suicide, in Armenian capital Yerevan on Wednesday, is identified.

The Police Force received a call, on Wednesday at 9:45 p.m., that a man wanted to throw himself from the rooftop of a building in Yerevan. A rescue team was dispatched to the scene, Police Force Press Service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The rescuers brought down Yerevan resident Grigor Tonoyan, 24, from a 5th-floor balcony, and handed him over to police officers.

Tonoyan had attempted to commit suicide last year, as well. He had climbed onto the rooftop of a building and threatened to throw himself down. But his father had arrived on the scene and, together with the police, negotiated with his son, and in the end Tonoyan surrendered to the police and was taken to the precinct.
