Armenian mouflons were video recorded during monitoring carried out at the Zangezur State Sanctuary of Armenia on September 1, we learn from the Ministry of Environment of Armenia.

The Armenian mouflon (lat.: Ovis orientalis gmelini) is registered in the Red Book of the former USSR.

Also, these species are on the Red List of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) (ver. 3.1), with the status "Vulnerable A2cde." According to the criteria of the list, the subspecies is considered "Endangered.”
