We do not have an agreement on the date and place of the next meeting. Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan of Armenia told this to reporters Monday, and referring to the work of the tripartite working group—under the joint chairmanship of the deputy PMs of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Russia—on unblocking the economic and transport links of the region.

"In the process, naturally, some matters are discussed at the level of working contacts, but there is no agreement regarding the next meeting at this moment," said Grigoryan.

To a reporter’s question as what the reason is for the current passivity of the aforesaid working group, the Armenian deputy premier responded that no matter how the issue of de-blockage is considered separately, the general background should be favorable because what de-blockage we can talk about if there is no stability and peace.

"Ultimately, de-blockage is also a peace process, and de-blockage will be possible or applicable amid peace. And in that sense, naturally, there is a certain interdependence regarding the passivity of the work," said Grigoryan.

As for the mutual perception of transport infrastructures and links, Mher Grigoryan noted that it seems there is an agreement between the parties in that regard, but there are many issues related to its operation, and they still need to be agreed upon once and for all.

"Having the infrastructure of the railway from Yeraskh to Horadiz is a very good solution for Armenia and for the region in general. It will emphasize and increase the logistical role of Armenia in the region. But, along with that, there are related issues that still imply a final solution or a final agreement, which does not exist," Grigoryan concluded.
