make preferableOn October 11, World Egg Day was celebrated for the first time in Armenia. The event was organised by Arzni Poultry Farm, one of Armenia’s leading egg producers, who marked the occasion with a special celebration alongside their team.
World Egg Day was established in Vienna in 1996 during a conference hosted by the International Egg Committee. The aim of the day is to raise public awareness about the nutritional benefits of eggs, emphasise the importance of including them in our diets, promote food safety, and encourage healthy eating habits.
In recent years, global egg consumption has increased by at least 40%, as eggs are recognized as one of the most nutritious foods, rich in vitamins, minerals, and essential amino acids. From French quiche to Japanese sushi, eggs are a cornerstone of many cuisines, uniting cultures and people through food.
At Arzni Poultry Farm, the day was celebrated with a series of educational events focused on the nutritional value of eggs, along with quizzes, interactive games, a specially designed photo zone, fun nominations and a raffle featuring various egg-based dishes. The event offered a unique and festive atmosphere.
“This is a symbolic day for all of us,” said Gevorg Janvelyan, Director of Arzni Poultry Farm, during his speech at the event. “We are celebrating World Egg Day for the first time in Armenia, and we hope this becomes a lasting warm tradition. Each year, we aim to organise awareness and educational events that highlight the importance of egg nutrition, as well as the high standards of quality and safety, as eggs are an essential part of our diet.”
Janvelyan added, “As a family business, we are committed to our traditions and values. We’ve implemented modern equipment that meets European standards and have successfully adopted innovative technologies that allow us to control the quality of our products and ensure food safety. For us, operating in the food production industry means that food safety is a top priority.”
Arzni Poultry Farm has been a trusted name in Armenia for nearly 30 years, providing consumers with ecologically clean, high-quality eggs. Arzni was founded in the 1990s, during a time when newly independent Armenia’s poultry industry was in decline and heavily reliant on imported eggs—often leading to serious health concerns. The factory uses German-made Hellmann cages with computer-controlled systems that regulate feeding, drinking, ventilation, and lighting, helping to create a comfortable environment for the birds. Their health is supported by a balanced diet that includes beta-carotene-rich ingredients such as alfalfa, corn, dried carrots, and seaweed. Regular health checks are conducted to monitor and prevent infections or diseases.
In addition, Arzni uses the Dutch Moba sorting machine, which automates egg reception, sorting, weighing, and packaging, ensuring both efficiency and product consistency.
Throughout its history, Arzni has consistently embraced innovative technologies and expanded its product range.
The company currently supplies eggs to around 1,600 small and medium-sized retail outlets, supermarkets, and collaborates with prestigious restaurants and hotels across the country.
