Our countries support deeper cooperation between Armenia and the EU in all possible directions, especially within the framework of the dialogue on visa liberalization, promotion of trade and dialogue in the political and security spheres between Armenia and the EU. This was stated by Speaker of the Latvian Saeima (Parliament) Daiga Mierina at a briefing after a panel discussion on “Together for Peace and Democracy” with the participation of the heads of parliaments of the Baltic and Nordic countries in Yerevan on January 23.

“We express support for long-term peace in the region. We express support for Pashinyan's 'Crossroads of Peace' initiative, which aims at peace and economic cooperation. We hope that a peace treaty will be signed between Armenia and Azerbaijan,” she added.

Daiga Mierina assured that moving to the EU does not mean sacrificing national identity but further strengthens it.
