French President Nicolas Sarkozy plans to file a lawsuit against the Mediapart website, which reported that overthrown and killed leader of Libya Muammar Gaddafi financed his previous presidential campaign.

The president said that the whole story about Gaddafi is aimed to undermine his confidence and to weaken his position before the run-off, Reuters reports.
