YEREVAN. – Newly appointed Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan on Saturday chaired a consultation between the heads of Armenia’s public administration agencies and the members of the Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen (Employers) of Armenia.

The objective of the meeting was to discuss the Armenian government’s next courses of action to improving the business climate in the country, reported the Press Office of the Government.

“I am convinced that we have good ideas which will contribute to our economic development and our country’s progress. Business support will be a priority issue for us, and each person needs to understand that economy is the foundation for the country’s progress.

“There cannot be any interference [to], [and] unfair obstacle [before,] business. Each investor [in Armenia] must understand that he is in good hands within the framework of the law. We will stand with those who want to do business [in Armenia],” the PM specifically stated ahead of the discussion.

Gagik Khachatryan, the Chairman of the State Revenue Committee (SRC), informed that, to this end, the SRC has developed several packages of legislative amendments, and that these packages aim to develop entrepreneurship in Armenia.
