The Azerbaijani MFA is outraged by the U.S. Department of State’s criticism of official Baku.
Azerbaijani MFA Spokesperson Elman Abdullayev considered unfounded and unacceptable the recent statement by U.S. Department of State Spokesperson Jen Psaki, Contact.az reported.
In her remarks, Psaki had condemned the brutal beating of Azerbaijani journalist and human rights activist Ilgar Nasibov.
“Such statements are political in nature, and they are an attempt to put political pressure on Azerbaijan and meddle in the country’s internal affairs.
“It would be nice if, instead of pointing to the problems of others, the US would seriously deal with its own human rights issues,” Abdullayev specifically stated.
