YEREVAN. - Armenia’s Education and Science Minister Armen Ashotyan today had a working meeting with the representatives of Armenian Ombudsman’s Office. During the meeting issues related to the full implementation of citizens’ right to education, Higher Attestation Commission (HAC) procedures and order on awarding scientific degrees, as well as certain legislative issues on shifting to the universal inclusive educational system were discussed.

Specifically, reference was made to the issues related to the development of new procedure of scientific works expert examination, double discussion, possibility of certain regulations in the corresponding legal acts, as well as legislative clarification in administrative and substantial matters.  In connection with this, Armen Ashotyan instructed the corresponding subdivisions of the Ministry to send to the Ombudsman’s office for feedback all the legislative drafts that might interest the latter.  

During the meeting, the parties expressed confidence that the issues related to the implementation of citizens’ right to education must be carried out pursuant to all the legal procedures.
