YEREVAN. – Armenia’s proposal to host the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF) conference just three years after its membership in the OIF bespeaks Armenia’s commitment to the objectives and values of La Francophonie.

Senegal’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Senegalese Abroad, Mankeur Ndiaye, noted the above-said at Saturday’s opening session of the 31st meeting of the OIF Ministerial Conference in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia.

Ndiaye also thanked the Armenian President and the people for the warm reception.

The 96th meeting of the Permanent Council of the Francophonie also will be convened in parallel with the 31st meeting of the OIF Ministerial Conference.

The two-day meeting is held at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex, where Armenian exhibitions and pavilions are also organized.

Foreign ministers of the eighty OIF member and observer countries from five continents are invited.

Around five hundred representatives from the OIF member states and its Secretariat have arrived in Yerevan to attend this event.

In parallel with this conference, OIF Secretary-General Michaëlle Jean is paying an official visit to Armenia.
