YEREVAN. - Istanbul court has ruled on the arrest of the three Armenian citizens who are accused of an assault on an elderly Armenian couple. Officials of the Murder Department of Turkish Police brought the 15 citizens suspected of the crime to the court, Istanbul-based Armenian “Agos” newspaper reports.

The court has ruled to arrest three of them, Artur A., Aram E. and Serj B. The remaining 12 women have been released in their own custody.

On February 6, three persons broke into the house of an elderly Armenian couple in Istanbul’s Şişli district. They stole expensive jewelry and large amount of money. Following this, they tied up the couple and fled.

Before the law enforcement authorities’ arrival at the scene, however, the 85-year-old husband died of suffocation, whereas his wife survived.
