At least 17 girls were killed and two more remain missing as a result of the fire in the dormitory of private school in the northern part of Thailand, BBC reported.
The incident occurred in the dorm at Pithakkiart Witthaya school in Chiang Rai on Sunday evening.
The local police stated that the girls aged between five and 13 were killed. At the same time five more girls got serious burns, and another 14 girls managed to escape unharmed.
It is noted that now the fire was extinguished. The cause of the fire was still under investigation.
