YEREVAN. - It’s enough to live by dreams about a just country, former Defense Minister of Armenia, Seyran Ohanyan, wrote on his Facebook page on Saturday.

In his words, being a minister in charge of the army issues, he could not interfere with the activity of other state institutions. “In the current situation created in the country the army is the only support, the only balanced and reliable force, which needs a strong rear.  Weakened economy, emigration, disillusion of people and growing public distrust in the authorities will not be able to ensure the rear of the army,” he wrote, adding that being a serviceman by profession, he knows the price of discipline and the value of willful decisions, perseverance, truth and harsh word.

“It is the time for this now. Various issues can and must be solved by persistence, with equality before law and without creating separate rules of game,” he noted.

The former official also underscored the importance of correct personnel policy in any sphere of country’s governance, when specialists work accurately and in a disciplined manner in correct places, which, according to him, our country lacks.

“Therefore, the overall political, economic and public atmosphere in the country no longer give an opportunity of development, growth and positive changes,” Ohanyan said.

In his words, all our problems stem from the inequality before the law, injustice, widely-spread bias and corruption. “The upcoming parliamentary elections will give us an opportunity to make literate changes and correct the situation with the help of the society. It’s enough to live dreaming about a just country. Let’s at last start fulfilling these dreams,” he stressed.
