The U.S. Vice President Mike Pence stressed in Munich that the United States will stand firm against Russia but keep door for cooperation open.

“Know this: the United States will continue to hold Russia accountable, even as we search for new common ground, which as you know, President Trump believes can be found,” Pence said.

According to the experts, the U.S. VP’s speech was aimed at easing European leaders’ concerns about President Donald Trump’s position, who previously criticized transatlantic institutions. President Trump also talked about possibility of making a deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
