Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said there are still obstacles on the negotiations to lift visa regime with Georgia, RIA Novosti reports.

“Again, it is quite a complicated process, due to the absence of diplomatic relations, as well as security issues, because terrorists, extremists and drug dealers use the routes both through Central Asia and the South Caucasus region,” Lavrov said.

Russia FM stressed that further dialogue on visa facilitation between the two countries is possible only after the mentioned risks have been overcome.
