We should have a strong arm of force, President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, who is the commander-in-chief of the Armenian Armed Forces, said at the meeting with the servicemen and their family members in Artsakh Saturday.

In his speech he noted the following:

“We lost hero boys last April. Nobody knows what I went through in regard of each one’s death.  Me, the commander-in-chief, who simply has no right to show weakness.  I lived through the entire life of each hero and in the morning I gave an order of a retaliatory attack with a cold look.

We should have a strong arm of force: populism or weakness at the top of the security pyramid can destroy an entire nation. When agreeing to end the four-day war, we definitely knew we hadn’t yet seized back one or two hills. Someone who is a populist and fears internal political field would return that land parcel at the expense of another 100 victims in order to play a hero on tribunes. Only the strong could give an order to halt, save lives and take on themselves the future blows of empty populism, realizing very well how many territories they had silently seized before and how many they will seize next time. Only the strong can value the human life. Our security needs strong leadership.”
