YEREVAN. – A sense of victimhood that the Armenians had for generations, prevented us from converting our pain into other people’s gain, co-founder of the Aurora Humanitarian Initiative Noubar Afeyan told reporters on Sunday.

The mindset of victimhood is explained partly by the fact that the genocide was not acknowledged by the successors of the perpetrators and “preoccupied us with fight to seek justice”, he said when asked about initiative’s assistance to the Middle East.

“We feel that this is the responsibility that Armenians should take,” he said about helping Aleppo.

It is necessary to try to do kind things to other people, Afeyan emphasized, adding that the Middle East is very important area of focus.
