Kadir Demirel, chief editor of Turkey’s pro-government Yeni Akit (New Contract) newspaper which inseminates malice and hate toward Armenians and Kurds, was killed by his son-in-law.

On Monday evening, Demirel, who was at his workplace, was informed by phone that his daughter and son-in-law were arguing, whereupon he rushed out of the Yeni Akit office and went to her daughter, according to Cumhuriyet (Republic) daily of Turkey.

At home, Kadir Demirel began to argue with his son-in-law, Cemil Yavuz Karanfil. The dispute intensified, and the son-in-law stabbed Demirel, and then his wife, Esma Karanfil.

The father and daughter were hospitalized, they underwent surgery, but Kadir Demirel’s life could not be saved.

Later, the son-in-law turned himself in to police.
