YEREVAN. – Armenian Prime Minister is inclined to long-term stay in his office, as evidenced by the government's action plan, Armenian education minister Levon Mkrtchyan told Armenian News -NEWS.am.

“The Prime Minister is the head of the government, and, naturally, he must develop and carry out any of his steps in the long term. The government’s action plan is proof that these are long-term efforts,” Mkrtchyan said.

Asked whether the government would resign unless the promised 5% economic growth is ensured, the minister replied: “To ensure economic growth, the country needs a very strong consolidation. Unless the government sets such a task, it would not be able ensure consolidation. If something goes wrong, it is necessary to explain why it happened. And if everything is too bad, then it will just be necessary to leave the office.”
