President of the European Parliament, Antonio Tajani, on Sunday announced that no-one in Europe will recognize the independence of Catalonia, ANSA news agency reported.

“Nobody in Europe would recognize the independence of Catalonia,” Tajani said speaking at a conference in Florence, Italy.

Earlier, La Razón (The reason) daily of Spain had reported that the Catalan parliament on Friday could declare the region’s independence from Spain.
