The cooking fire at a homeless camp sparkled The Skirball Fire that destroyed six homes damaged a dozen more in the Bel-Air neighborhood of Los Angeles on December 6, fire officials said.\

Homeless people have lived in a small canyon east of the 405 freeway near Bel-Air for several years. The investigators of the fire department visited the camp on December 6 and found evidence that people had been sleeping there, but did not find anyone at the camp, The Washington Post reported.

A large part of the camp was destroyed by fire. Before the fire officials did not know about the existence of the camp.

The Skirball Fire has become one of the powerful fires in southern California for the last 10 days.  The Thomas fire burned more than 500 buildings and seized 150 thousand acres.
