Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry issued a statement expressing support for the people of Iraq and their interest in expanding and strengthening the existing historical and cultural ties.

“The Republic of Azerbaijan welcomes the establishment of a new government led by Nouri al-Maliki and believes that it will ensure stability and security in the country will progress and welfare of the people of Iraq”, said in a statement.
