Twitter said they will continue to cooperate with the office of special counsel Robert Mueller and the US Congress on the Russian investigation case in the context of the charges brought forward the day before.

Representative of the company said Russian efforts to undermine the elections in the United States in 2016, including through the misuse of social networking platforms, are contrary to all that they believe in Twitter, RIA Novosti reported.

The Justice Department indicted 13 Russian people and 3 Russian companies accusing them of committing federal crimes while seeking to interfere in the United States political system, including the 2016 presidential election.

Earlier, Facebook vice president Joel Kaplan said that the company is grateful to the US government for the indictment, and these measures confirmed that foreign actors carried out coordinated and consistent efforts “to attack our democracy.”
