Italy opened its polling station doors on Sunday morning, Express reported.

According to the Italian Foreign Ministry, over 61,000 polling stations are open on the territory of the country and beyond its borders.

A total of 46.8 million Italians will vote to elect the 945 member parliament, while Italians over 25 can elect senators.

The polls will close at 11PM local time on Sunday, however, the first official results will be revealed on Monday.
