Incumbent Nicolás Maduro has won the Venezuelan presidential election by garnering more than 5.8 million—or close to 68 percent of the—votes. 

Tibisay Lucena, President of the National Electoral Council of Venezuela, informed about the aforementioned, reported RIA Novosti news agency of Russia.

As a result, Maduro will remain as the head of state until 2025.
