Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo are holding their first meeting in Helsinki on Monday, TASS reported.

Lavrov and Pompeo are holding meetings  in parallel with the summit of the US leader Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Lavrov and Pompeo welcomed each other and shared handshakes. The meeting is closed to the press.

This is their first meeting since the appointment of Pompeo as US Secretary of State.
